Mbale DPC rescues pregnant woman as lockdown continues biting

A desperate pregnant woman in labour pain who had heard the phone number of Mbale District Police Commander being mentioned on the radio for any help, was rescued and rushed to hospital where she delivered a bouncing baby safely.

Mbale District Police Commander in Uganda, Mchanga Fred, said that when he received the phone call at 3:00 am, he was lost for words but devised quick means to personally rescue the caller whom she did not know.

Muchanga narrated to our reporter that he picked Ritah Namboozo from Nabanyole village in Wanale Sub County at 3am and took her to the Health facility where she delivered at 9:00am today morning.

While speaking from her hospital bed Namboozo confided to our reporter that she had heard the DPC phone number being mentioned on the radio and when she got into unexpected labour pains deep in the night she did not hastate to call.

Muchanga has been appearing on radio talk show with the Mbale RDC to sensitise the masses on how to contact for help in case of emergency during the Coronavirus closedown in the country.

She said that the fearless work that the DPC did has brought her back to life and urged all people regardless of their status in society to do whatever they can to bring a step closer to greater humanity.
