Th Autopsy in the body of deceased Ruth Matete’s husband Beloved John suffered 60% due to the gas explosion. Chief government pathologist Johansen Oduor said the deceased, John Apewajoye also suffered multiple organ failure due to the burns.

The Nigerian embassy also asked the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to hold the remains of the pastor until it gave a green light for a burial. This came days after the musician was grilled for six hours by the investigative agency grilled gospel over the death of her spouse on Tuesday, April 21.

Matete had recorded another statement with the DCI detectives on Friday, April 17. Apewajoye sustained burn injuries at their Wall Gardens Estate home on March 30, 2020, and was rushed to Shalom Hospital then transferred to the high dependency unit at Bellevue Hospital.

A probe into Apewejoye’s death began after his manager raised questions on the circumstances in which the pastor died and also made glaring insinuations that Matete had a hand in his death.

Through her lawyer Robert Odanga, the gospel star said she had filed two complaints, one against the gas cylinder company and the other against Bellevue South Hospital. Her house, in Athi River was also treated as a crime scene and samples were collected as detectives sought to unravel the circumstances surrounding Apewajoye’s death.
